HPA was established in 1985 by Jim Hatton and Arthur Parkinson, both professional managers with a long established background in Management Consultancy. Prior to setting up the business, Jim and Arthur were involved in some of the pioneering implementations of BS5750 (predecessor to ISO 9000) in the early 1980's. Following many implementations it was recognised that contrary to the popular opinion of the time ISO 9001 could be successfully and beneficially applied to businesses of all sizes.
Since its creation the company has developed a unique and practical approach to the installation of Quality Management Systems which are easy to apply while meeting all the requirements of the standard. An approach which maximizes the benefits gained while minimising disruption.
The success of this approach has enabled the company to expand the range
of standards offered to include not only ISO9001 but also 14001 the environmental
standard, 18001 the health and safety standard as well as CE Marking and a
diverse range of industry specific standards. Utilising a common pragmatic
approach and our philosophy of "keeping it simple - build on what you've got"
we have helped over 4000 companies in a diverse range of industries to achieve
